CORRELATIVE STUDIES ON THE FISH BIODIVERSITY AND PHYSICOCHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF KISHORE SAGAR LAKE, KOTA, RAJASTHAN INDIA
Chambal river, Kishore Sagar Lake, Physicochemical parameters.
Water is the driving force of all nature. Different studies have shown that climate change is greatly impacting water resources availability. Aquatic life depends on the physicochemical and biological characteristics of water. Kota is the educational city of Rajasthan. and is situated in the southern part of the state. Chambal River makes the natural border of this city. Kishore Sagar Lake is situated in the centre of Kota city. It an important source of drinking water and irrigation purposes. Important physicochemical parameters like pH, temperature transparency, turbidity, DO, free Carbon dioxide, TDS, COD, BOD, Chlorine, Fluorine, Coliform bacteria, hardness, total alkalinity, nitrate etc. were examined in laboratory. Standard APHA (2012) was used during the examination. On basic of following examination it was found that the water sample collected from all 3 sites is not suitable for domestic uses.
