In the present work lake water samples are collected from four different stations of Yellamma Cheruvu Husnabad, it’s also called as Pedda Cheruvu from local people. In the present study four algae groups were identified. Chlorophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Bacillariophyceae, Euglenophyceae. The present Study revealed that Chlorophyceae species were most dominant followed by Cyanophyceae, Bacillariophyceae, and Euglenophyceae with regard to its water quality. Water quality assessment is carried out from January 2021 to December 2021 on monthly basis in order to assess physico chemical parameters such as temperature, pH, carbonates, bicarbonates, total hardness, chlorides, phosphate, nitrates, nitrites, silicates, dissolved oxygen, biological oxygen demand, and organic matter following the standard methods of APHA (2005).
