Abstract: This study observes the seasonal fluctuations in key physico-chemical parameters and the biological characteristics of fish in the Patne River of Madhya Pradesh, employing standard classical logical methods. The main objective was to assess the current status of the river for its effective utilization. Observations were made across three seasons—summer, winter, and rainy. The findings specify that all the assessed parameters remained within acceptable limits for fish culture. The results further recommend that fish stocking should be planned in accordance with the water’s productivity. Moreover, the study highlights significant potential to enhance fish yield by improving the carrying capacity of the water bodies.
