Virus, Human, Antiviral, Antibodies, India, Bangladesh, China.
Nipah virus (NiV) is a highly pathogenic zoonotic virus causing severe respiratory and neurological diseases in humans. First identified in 1999, outbreaks occur sporadically in South Asia. Transmission occurs via fruit bats, contaminated food, and human-to-human contact. No specific antiviral treatment exist, supportive care is primary management. Prevention focuses on avoiding exposure to bats and infect individuals. Ongoing research explore therapeutic options like monoclonal antibodies.
