Abstract:
Genus Corynandra Schrad. ex Spreng. (Cleomaceae family) has a complex taxonomic history that significantly include controversial separation from the genus Cleome L. Ongoing revisions based on morphological and molecular studies on Corynandra created ambiguity to support its monophyly. This review comprehensively analyzes most of the available literature to examine the genus for taxonomic treatment. We have compiled the data on taxonomic history, morphological studies and phylogenies to elucidate the evolutionary relationships and description of individual species within the genus. Our results represents five species within the genus Corynandra based on research findings.
