GEO-LOCATION BASED ATTENDANCE TRACKING SOFTWARE USING GEOFENCING: A GRID-BASED APPROACH

Contemporary attendance management in educa tional institutions faces persistent challenges related to accu racy, efficiency, and fraud prevention. This research presents a comprehensive investigation of geolocation-based attendance tracking systems employing grid-based geofencing methodologies. The proposed system integrates GPS technology with spatial indexing algorithms to create an automated, scalable, and secure attendance framework suitable for multi-campus educational environments. Through systematic analysis of technical architec tures, algorithmic implementations, and privacy considerations, this study demonstrates how grid-based geofencing can enhance location verification accuracy while maintaining computational efficiency. The system architecture incorporates distance cal culation algorithms, boundary validation techniques, and role based access controls to establish a production-ready solution that prioritizes both functionality and institutional compliance requirements. Empirical testing indicates that the proposed grid based approach achieves 95% accuracy in attendance detection while maintaining sub-200ms API response times across dis tributed deployments.
