Abstract

A digital ecosystem for recycling, reuse, and responsible electronic exchange aims to address the rising environmental and health hazards caused by the improper disposal of electronic waste. To promote sustainable management of discarded electronics, this work presents an integrated platform where users can sell, buy, recycle, and repurpose refurbished e-waste materials. The system provides structured categorization of electronic items, detailed product descriptions, and a robust search mechanism to help users quickly locate specific components or devices. All transactions conducted on the platform are securely stored as documented records, enabling both users and administrators to track who purchased an item, when it was bought, and under what conditions. To enhance communication and ease of use, the platform includes an interactive chatbot that assists users with queries related to recycling processes, product listings, and system navigation. Additionally, the system generates automated email notifications to buyers after successful purchases, ensuring transparency and improving user engagement. By combining digital marketplace features with sustainability-focused functionalities, the proposed framework encourages responsible e-waste handling, reduces landfill accumulation, and supports the development of a scalable circular-economy model. This research demonstrates how technology-driven platforms can contribute significantly to mitigating the global e-waste crisis while fostering community participation and environmental awareness.
