The complexity of delivering adequate quality and quantity of food to people is a serious concern globally due to rapid food price hikes, under-investment in agriculture, and adverse weather patterns. This article describes the food security models of the Government of Kerala to protect the right to food of the people, especially those with low income and the destitutes. Kerala’s food security models, with their emphasis on consumer empowerment and justice, are remarkable on the global stage. Through innovative strategies, inclusive policies, and sustainable practices, Kerala has set a benchmark in ensuring food security for all its citizens, particularly during times of crisis. These efforts highlight the state's dedication to creating a food system that is sustainable, adaptive, and inclusive, ensuring that no one is left behind in the fight against hunger.
