Abstract

This paper presents the design and implementation of a 3D virtual smart home interaction system using Unity3D. The growing demand for intelligent home environments has led to the development of smart homes that enhance comfort, safety, and energy efficiency. However, traditional smart home systems, which rely on 2D interfaces or text commands, suffer from limitations in user interaction, leading to a lack of intuitive control and real-time feedback. To address these issues, this research integrates 3D virtual reality (VR) technology with smart home systems, providing users with a more immersive and interactive experience. The proposed system allows users to control and monitor home appliances through a 3D virtual interface that mirrors the physical home environment. Key features include real-time control of lighting, air conditioning, security systems, and other smart devices, as well as multi-platform support for Windows, Android, and iOS devices. The core contributions of this thesis are the development of a facial recognition-based security system, an adaptive threat detection algorithm, and a 3D point cloud recognition system, all aimed at improving home security. The system architecture consists of a virtual reality client, a server-side processing system, and a mobile control platform, ensuring seamless interaction and synchronization between the virtual and real environments. This work demonstrates the potential of 3D virtual environments in smart home applications, offering enhanced user experience, greater control efficiency, and a scalable solution for future smart home development. The paper concludes by outlining future research directions, focusing on expanding the system’s capabilities and improving its usability in real-world scenarios.
