This study was aimed to evaluate the demographic characteristics of glioma patients, to assess the incidence of seizures in glioma patients, to assess frequency of seizure frequency in relation to histology of glioma. Glioma is a tumor in the central nervous system, i.e. the brain and the spinal cord and is one of the most common types of primary brain tumors. It is characterized by the abnormal growth of brain cells and the spread of cancer to cells within the central nervous system. Epileptic seizures are among the most common presenting symptom in patients with glioma. This study confirmed the results of previous studies showing that seizure in patients with glioma is associated with the tumor location. Seizures are more common in the frontal, temporal, and parietal lobes. Anti-epileptic drugs (AED) were used to control seizures. Levetiracetam was very well tolerated and the most common drug used to control seizures in glioma patients. To maintain quality of life and to safely and effectively control the tumor, it is necessary to select antiepileptic drug that do not adversely affect cognitive function or interact with other drugs, including anti-cancer agents.
