DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF RP-HPLC METHOD FOR SIMULTANEOUS ESTIMATION OF MONTELUKAST AND FEXOFENADINE IN TABLET DOSAGE FORM.

A simple, fast and precise reverse phase high performance liquid chromatographic method has been developed for the simultaneous determination of Montelukast and Fexofenadine. The chromatographic separation was achieved on Phenomenex Kinetex XB-C18 (150 x 4.6 mm, 5µ) column; detection wavelength is 212 nm, mobile phase containing 0.1% Perchloric acid: Acetonitrile (41:59, % v/v) with flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. The retention time of Montelukast and Fexofenadine were 1.69, and 4.61 min respectively. The linearity were found to be in the range of 8-12 µg/mL and 96-144 µg/mL for Montelukast and Fexofenadine with correlation coefficient 1 for Montelukast and 0.999 for Fexofenadine. The proposed methods were validated as per ICH guidelines and successfully applied for the determination of investigated drugs in tablets.
