Stress resistance, life history features, and reproduction are all strongly influenced by the quality and quantity of nutrients that an organism consumes. For animals to survive and successfully reproduce, energy acquisition and expenditure must be balanced. The capacity of living things to modify their physiology, behaviour, or development in response to external circumstances. A crucial component of the flies or other organisms adapt to different kinds of environmental stress is the availability of food and nourishment. The current study demonstrates the effect of the Whey protein on the heat resistance in Drosophila melanogaster which is cultured in Wheat cream agar media, Mixed media and Whey protein media. The results suggest that, flies fed with Whey protein media had greater heat resistance than Wheat cream agar and mixed media. This shows that Whey protein provides sufficient nutrition to withstand high temperature. This study also shows that females (virgin and mated) have more heat resistance than that of males (virgin and mated) in all the diets. Both unmated male and female flies showed more heat resistance than mated flies in all three diets. Thus, Whey protein increases starvation resistance in D. melanogaster.
