Phytoremediation, a sustainable and environmentally friendly technique, has garnered attention for its potential to mitigate the impact of domestic wastewater. This paper reviews the current research on the application of phytoremediation techniques for treating domestic wastewater. It explores various aspects including the effectiveness of different plant species, factors influencing phytoremediation efficiency, and the integration of phytoremediation with other treatment methods. Additionally, this paper discusses the challenges and future directions in the field, aiming to provide insights for further research and practical application.
