Study on Pre-oviposition period and oviposition pattern of Lohita grandis Gray (Phyrrocoridae : Heteroptera : Hemiptera)

Lohita grandis Gray found in tropical and sub-tropical region as a pest of Trewia nudoflora, Mallotus philiooensis, Adhatoda vasica, Putranjiva roxburghii, Ehretia laevis. A pre-oviposition period of 3 to 6 days were observed. Oviposition occurs after 48 to 96 hrs after copulation. Pattern of oviposition depends upon environmental condition such as temperature and relative humidity. Appendages of female Lohita grandis Gray help in the process of oviposition.
