Abstract

Empowerment can be a synchronization of resource, agency and achievement. Empowerment can not only be reflected through preference. Women choices and preference may reflect society’s view about gender rather their own true preference. To enable women to make her own choice and preference, society must have furnished such resources that may truly enhance women’s agency, her voice and her participation in decision making process. The resources may provide different domain from education to employment, health and political participation. The status of women within society is determined by different social processes which are prevalent in the society and these processes together (like economic, political, cultural and natural) overdetermine the social status of a woman. Note that these processes are also changing continuously and so is the construction of woman in society After 1970, policy makers have adopted several gender equity measures, but which resource may hit the target is very much essential to identify. we noticed some success stories of upgradation of women demographic profile, visa-a vis it talked about wide gender disparity across the states. Though the both Central and state Government have taken several initiatives to furnish resources in order to enhancing participation, voice, negotiation, and influence in decision-making about strategic life choices the agency of women power, but its good effect may not reach evenly to targeted group of women. Therefore, identification of accurate means /resources that enhances the women’s voice is very much crucial. To recognize the main factors that will enhance the women’s agency the researcher has used Pearson correlation coefficient method. Hence, this paper explains the factors that influence women’s agency to make decision of their own
