Acne is a disease characterized by inflammatory and non- inflammatory lesions. The pathogenesis includes various factors like hormonal, bacterial and immunological, which causes acne lesions. Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis have been recognized as pus-forming bacteria triggering an inflammation in acne. The Present research work deals with the Formulation and evaluation of natural topical gel for the treatment of acne vulgaris containing hydro alcoholic extract of Lantana camara. They contain several medicinal properties that include it benignant-diabetic, antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti- inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic and with hepatic-protective properties. The aim of this study was to overcome the antibiotic resistance and side effects of synthetic drugs by avoiding use of synthetic agents.
