Ksharasutra is a time-tested Ayurvedic treatment for fistula-in-ano. It can completely cure fistula-in-ano without any complications and recurrence. The application of Ksharsutra is associated with scraping, draining, excision, penetrating and debridement procedures which significantly improves process of healing with minimal invasion. Eventhough it is a successful treatment, some difficulties are there such as unavailability of snuhiksheera, storage of snuhiksheera, difficulty in preparation, storage of ksharasutra. To overcome this difficulties several newer technologies were developed for the collection of materials, preparation, storage and applications of ksharasutra.
