Tourism entrepreneurship plays a pivotal role in driving economic growth and fostering sustainable development in regions with significant tourism potential. This study focuses on identifying and analyzing the emerging trends of tourism entrepreneurship in Tamil Nadu, with a particular emphasis on the picturesque hill station of Kodaikanal. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative interviews with key stakeholders such as local entrepreneurs, government officials, and tourism experts, along with quantitative surveys distributed among tourists and residents. Key areas of investigation include the types of tourism businesses emerging in Kodaikanal, the challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the sector, innovative strategies adopted to overcome these challenges, and the role of government policies and support mechanisms in facilitating entrepreneurship. Preliminary findings suggest a surge in niche tourism ventures catering to eco-tourism, adventure tourism, and wellness tourism in Kodaikanal. Furthermore, entrepreneurs are increasingly leveraging technology to enhance visitor experiences and streamline operations. However, persistent challenges such as infrastructure limitations, environmental concerns, and seasonality remain significant barriers to sustainable entrepreneurship. The study contributes to the existing literature by offering insights into the evolving dynamics of tourism entrepreneurship in Tamil Nadu, particularly in the context of a popular tourist destination like Kodaikanal. The findings are expected to inform policymakers, local communities, and prospective entrepreneurs, facilitating the development of strategies to promote inclusive and sustainable tourism entrepreneurship in the region.
