Blended learning is one of the outcomes of the technological revolution in the field of education. This paper is a review-based paper, here researchers reviewed papers and examined critically to understand the concept, historical background, models and the effectiveness of blended learning in the teaching-learning process. The findings reveal that, effectiveness of blended learning is differential in nature, depending on the grade and socio-economic condition of students, infrastructural facilities of institution, attitude and technical knowledge of students and teachers. In addition, this paper discussed the present scenario and role of teachers at the undergraduate level in regard to implementing blended learning.
