The subaltern is teased by the promise of unattainable goals in Indian films, which are chaotic trans-imageries depicting the current desires of a disordered India. A discursive Dalit film has a solid argument to make. In order to combat caste discrimination, a pan-Dalit movement need a single rhetoric of resistance. The effectiveness of Dalit films in combating caste differences, caste distance, and caste oppression could be enhanced by a collective approach by Dalits involved in the entertainment industry, but a coordinated effort to use Dalit cinema to address caste-conscious gaps in Indian cinema occurs only sporadically. Another approach would be to organise a pan-Indian cinematic movement made up of academics, artists from all over the country, underprivileged consumers, and members of oppressed minority groups to address long-standing issues with the caste system's benefits. Film can serve as a catalyst for social change, as the audience's participation in the film's narrative propels it into action.
