In the present study the photocatalytic degradation of dye was studied in presence of semiconductor SrCrO4. The progress of reaction was observed spectrophotometrically at 630nm. The effect of various parameters such as catalyst loading, pH, initial concentration of Dye on discoloration and degradation have been determined. A tentative mechanism has also been proposed for the photocatalytic degradation of dye.
