Abstract: Abstract- Biphenyl is an organic compound that forms colorless crystals. Biphenyl derivative synthesis have been widely carried out and have yielded wide range of compounds with wide range of activities such as Anti -microbial, anti - diabetic, anti - proliferative, Anti - oxidant, analgesic, anti -inflammatory [1-13] and so on, A number of derivatives are obtained which are of therapeutic significance. This review is summarized to know about synthesis of biphenyl and its derivatives as well as various biphenyl analogs that has potential to act against number of affliction and disorders.
