Abstract: Ashmari (Urolithiasis) is one of the major reasons of abdominal pain that disturbs the mankind since long time. Mutravaha strotas (urinary system) and Strotogata vikaras (urinary disorders) have prime importance in Ayurveda. It detoxifies the body by eliminating waste products through urine. In diseased people we see increased or decreased urine production, formation of stones, obstructed and painful micturition, increased frequency of micturition and so on. In this condition various herbs are mentioned in ayurvedic text that can be useful to treat these disorders. Drugs such as Mutrasangrahaneeya, Mutravirechaneeya, Mutravirajneeya, Ashmarighna dravyas are the useful drugs for urinary system disorders. Mutrasangrahaneeya drugs reduce the increased flow of urine. Mutravirajneeya dravya increase the flow of urine. Mutravirajneeya dravyas impart normal colour to urine.
