Abstract

This study investigates the environmental impact of mining activities on the tribal lands of Jharkhand, India. Through a comprehensive analysis, it examines the extensive degradation caused by mining operations, including deforestation, soil erosion, water pollution, and air contamination. The research also assesses the repercussions on biodiversity, ecosystem health, and the socio-economic well-being of indigenous communities, emphasizing issues such as displacement, loss of livelihoods, and health risks. Furthermore, it evaluates existing regulatory frameworks and mitigation strategies, proposing recommendations for sustainable practices and community involvement to mitigate adverse effects and promote equitable and environmentally responsible development in the region.
