Abstract: Power Quality is an occurrence manifested as many type of disturbance in voltage current or frequency, sensitive industrial loads that results in failure of end user equipment. So this thesis represents the techniques for improve in sag and swell using device like DVR, DSTATCOM and UPQC. The Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) is a series compensator which can compensate for power quality problems such as voltage harmonics, voltage unbalance, voltage flickers, voltage sags, and voltage swells. Distribution Static Compensator (DSTATCOM) is a shunt compensator which can compensate for power quality problems such as current harmonics, current unbalance, reactive current, etc. Among all these power quality problems, two are identified as the major concern to the customers namely voltage sag and swell. A control technique based on a proportional integral (PI) controller is implemented with Pulse width modulation (PWM) inverter capable of generating accurate high quality voltage waveforms from the power electronic device. D-STATCOM exhibits high speed control of reactive power to provide voltage stabilization. During the transient conditions the D-STATCOM provides leading or lagging reactive power to active system stability, power factor correction and load balancing. The operation of UPQC isolates the utility from current quality problems of load and in the same time, isolates the load from voltage quality problems of utility. Simulation results show the effectiveness of proposed method by MATLAB/simulink.
