This paper presents a practical model for optimization of the load frequency control of a two area system. The proposed model is framed with the thermal generating units and it is a non-linear power system. For design and analysis of the proposed method the Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller is used. A unique objective function is formulated which considering the transient specifications. A Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm And Simulated Annealing ( SA)is used to obtain the best control parameters. The results and characteristics are compared and find which proposed model gives better performances.
