Abstract: Corona virus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people infected with the virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Coping strategy is an action, a series of actions, or a thought process used in meeting a stressful or unpleasant situation or in modifying one’s reaction to such a situation. This study was taken up to assess the level of emotional problems and coping strategies among senior citizens during COVID-19 pandemic situation. In this study non -experimental research approach and a descriptiveresearch study design is used. The data was collected from 50 samples from selected districts from Kerala. The data obtained was analyzed using chi-square test. This study reveals 70% of senior citizens having good knowledge regarding emotional problems and coping strategies, 20% having average knowledge and 10% having poor knowledge regarding emotional problems and coping strategies. There is an association between the knowledge level of emotional status and coping strategies and the demographic variables such as Age (X2 = 13.8508) and Religion (X2 =11.86) and there is no association between the knowledge level of emotional status and coping strategies and the demographic variablessuch as Sex (X2= 2.2085), Education(X2= 8.159), Marital Status (X2= 2.46), Type of Family (X2= 0.26), Financial Status (X2= 3.594) and Social Class(X2= 3.594) at 0.05 level.
