Abstract: The study area lies in the Tehsil Murree, Western Himalayas, and Pakistan. Tehsil Murree is a subdivision of District Rawalpindi in Punjab province and situated on the southern slopes of the Western Himalayas foothills. The area is easily accessible through Murree-Expressway. The present study deals with detailed geomorphological mapping and geotechnical investigations of rainfall-induced shallow landslide i.e., Khajut Landslide, along the Murree Expressway. The extensive field survey was carried out to map, measure and investigate these landslide. To evaluate soil/rock strata and surface and subsurface drainage, detailed laboratory testing was carried out. Geomorphological and geological mapping, longitudinal profile measurements and geotechnical soil sampling were performed to determine the causes and mechanics of this landslide. Based on field observation, geotechnical investigation and longitudinal profile, the Khajut landslide is classified as a rotational slide. The direction of movement of the Khajut l
