Purpose:
To present the case of a 32-year-old male diagnosed with unilateral Eales disease.
Methods:
A comprehensive clinical, angiographic, and ultrasonographic assessment was conducted. The patient’s medical history, ocular examination findings, and imaging results were meticulously documented to establish the diagnosis and determine the appropriate course of treatment.
Results:
The patient was initially managed with antitubercular therapy and systemic corticosteroids. However, due to non-compliance with the prescribed medication regimen, the patient developed retinal detachment within 16 days of follow-up.
Conclusions:
Eales disease presents a diagnostic challenge due to its resemblance to other retinal vasculitides and neovascular conditions. A thorough clinical evaluation, supported by imaging techniques, is essential for an accurate diagnosis. Management requires a multidisciplinary approach, emphasizing patient adherence to therapy to prevent severe complications. Timely intervention, including medical and surgical strategies, plays a vital role in preserving vision and improving patient outcomes.
