A mild and an efficient method catalyzed by Mg(NO3)2 in isopropanol as a solvent was developed for the synthesis of bis(indolyl) methane’s through two component process between indole and aryl aldehydes scaffold the corresponding bis (indolyl) alkanes in excellent yields under reflux conditions. All structures of the desired analogous were examined spectroscopic data 1H NMR, 13C NMR spectroscopy and LCMS .The structure of the derivatives was estimated by elemental analysis. The antibacterial potent activity of newly synthesized compounds was studied against gram (+Ve) bacteria and gram (-Ve) bacteria as well as anti-fungal activity.
