Medical images contain sensitive patient data that must be securely transmitted and stored to prevent unauthorized access and tampering. Ensuring data integrity and confidentiality is crucial for maintaining patient privacy and medical record security. This paper presents a dual-layer security approach combining Henon chaotic encryption with digital watermarking using Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Integer Wavelet Transform (IWT). The Region of Interest (ROI) is encrypted using the Henon chaotic map to enhance security, while the Region of Non-Interest (RONI) is embedded with patient data, a hospital logo, and a SHA-256 hash for integrity verification and tamper detection. The watermarking process embeds patient data in the HL sub-band, the SHA-256 hash in the LH sub-band, and the hospital logo in the HH sub-band. Performance is assessed using Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR), Structural Similarity Index (SSIM), and Mean Squared Error (MSE). Experimental results show that PSNR values exceed 6 dB, indicating minimal distortion, while SSIM values remain above 0.98, ensuring image quality preservation. The extracted watermark data, including patient information and logos, is highly accurate, confirming the robustness of the proposed technique. The approach effectively enhances medical image security, making it suitable for healthcare applications requiring secure and tamper-proof image transmission.
