Abstract

Maintaining optimal soil moisture is crucial for plant health and growth, yet many gardeners find manual watering tiring and time-consuming. The “Plant Sense AI Watering System” addresses this issue by automating the irrigation process, utilizing Arduino technology and soil moisture sensors to ensure plants receive adequate water without constant human intervention. The primary objective of this project is to develop an efficient and sustainable solution for plant irrigation. By continuously monitoring soil moisture levels, the system can activate a water pump when moisture falls below a predefined threshold. This automation enhances plant care convenience and significantly reduces water wastage, promoting more sustainable gardening practices. The methodology adopted includes integrating various components, such as an Arduino microcontroller, soil moisture sensors, and a water pump. The sensors measure the moisture content in the soil and relay this data to the Arduino, which processes the information and triggers the pump as needed. Initial tests indicate a marked improvement in maintaining optimal moisture levels, resulting in healthier plant growth and reduced water usage.
