In this paper, we propose a new smart bridge system that helps mitigate floods by controlling its curve based on real-time water levels. In flood events, the smart bridge continuously monitors the water level using built-in sensors and reports the information to the intelligent control system. The system utilizes machine learning to predict the optimal curve adjustment of the bridge. This approach allows the bridge to passively release water and debris while ensuring its own safety and stability. The effectiveness of the proposed system is verified through simulation and experimentation. The proposed smart bridge system could reduce flooding damage and improve transportation infrastructure resilience. The proposed innovative smart bridge system presents an adaptive and proactive solution for bridge infrastructure supporting extreme weather events in flood-prone areas.
