This project aims to design and fabricate a propeller shaft using 3D printing technology to overcome limitations of traditional machining, such as heavy components, material waste, complex tooling, and long production times. The shaft requires minimal weight and maximum efficiency, and is designed using SolidWorks and 3D printing's ability to create complex geometries with reduced waste. The focus is on selecting an optimal composite material, evaluated using twisting resistance testing and ANSYS simulations based on torsional stress. 3D printing offers faster production, reduced waste, and the flexibility to use composites not easily processed by traditional techniques, increasing manufacturing efficiency.
