Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) In Automotive Systems: A Comprehensive Review
Intrusion Detection Systems, Automotive Security, Cybersecurity, Vehicle Networks, CAN Bus, Ethernet, Intrusion Detection Techniques.
The automobile industry is continuously evolving as innovative technologies improve vehicle performance, safety, and user experience. One of the most significant advances in modern cars is the use of networked communication systems such as the Controller Area Network (CAN) and Ethernet networks. While these developments offer several benefits, they also open the door to security breaches that might threaten the vehicle's integrity, safety, and security. IDS, or intrusion detection systems, in automotive applications are intended to identify unauthorized access or harmful activity within the vehicle's network. This study investigates the role of IDS in automotive systems, implementation obstacles, different types of IDS solutions, and future developments in automotive cybersecurity.
