BACKGROUND:
Chronic low back pain(CLBP) is defined as back pain lasting more than 12 weeks. Low back pain is a common health problem among adults of working age population. The prevalence and incidence of low back pain ranged from 1.4 to 20.0% and 0.024-7.0%,respectively. Prolonged tight hamstring muscle causes back pain.
OBJECTIVE:
Comparing the effectiveness of jack knife stretching and slump stretching in reducing pain and restoring functional ability in Chronic low back pain.
METHODOLOGY:
30 subjects with CLBP are taken into consideration from a large number of subjects. The subjects are selected by proper screening and fulfilling the inclusive and exclusive criteria and are taken for a comparative study. The subjects were divided into 2 groups (15 each). Group A received IFT with jack knife stretching and Group B received IFT with slump stretching 6 sessions for 2 weeks. Pre and post test were analysed based on the outcome measures i.e. numerical pain rating scale(NPRS) and lower extremity functional scale(LEFS).
