Abstract

This paper discusses some ex situ observations on pre-oviposition period and oviposition pattern of Dolicoris indicus Stal. It is found in tropical and sub tropical region of the country as a pest of Sorghum vulgare (Sorghum, JAWAR), Triticum aestivum, Oryza sativa and Trifolium alexandrium (BERSIME). Pre-oviposition period of 3-7 days were observed. Oviposition occurs after 48-96 hours of copulation. Oviposition pattern depends upon environmental factor like-temperature and relative humidity. Appendages of female Dolicoris indicus help in the process of oviposition.
