Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory disease of the central nervous system characterized by demyelination and neurodegeneration. Although classical sclerosing lesions are well described, cavitary forms of MS are of increasing interest due to their potential impact on disease progression and response to treatment. We report two cases of MS with large cavitary brain lesions. Clinical and biological features, progressive form, Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS), Mini-mental-State-Exam (MMSE) and radiological features, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), of the cavitary lesions were analyzed.
