ABSTRACT: The review paper investigates the many pharmacological strategies that phytosterols can employ to treat illnesses associated with oxidative stress. It explores phytosterols' antioxidant mechanism and clarifies how they might boost endogenous antioxidant defenses and scavenge free radicals. Because of this mechanism and the way, they alter intracellular signaling pathways, phytosterols are powerful tools for reducing the risk of illnesses brought on by oxidative stress. Their antioxidant qualities are further supported by in vitro research that shows protection against lipid peroxidation, protection of the mitochondria, and control of gut dysbiosis. Clinical studies involving humans highlight the potential of phytosterols to lower oxidative stress indicators in a range of illnesses, such as cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular disorders. The paper also covers the pharmacological effects of phytosterols on diabetic control, neuroprotection, cardiovascular health, and cancer prevention. Phytosterols have a variety of antioxidant processes that make them a good option for treating disorders linked to oxidative stress; however, further study is needed to maximize their safety and effectiveness in clinical environments.
