This study examines India's economic development through a detailed analysis of per capita income and sectoral contributions, with a focus on regional disparities between Northern and Southern states. It uses secondary data to evaluate economic performance and growth trends, highlighting significant differences across regions and sectors. Table 1 tracks per capita income trends in nominal and constant terms, revealing a steady increase in per capita GDP, GNI, and NNI despite economic challenges. The study also differentiates per capita income across Northern and Southern states, showcasing regional disparities and growth patterns. Table 3 ranks states and Union Territories by their highest per capita income, emphasizing economic variations and development levels. Table 4 analyzes the relationship between inflation and per capita income growth, while Table 5 provides insights into sectoral contributions to Gross Value Added (GVA), indicating shifts in economic activity. Finally, Table 6 reflects India's progress in per capita economic indicators at constant prices, demonstrating overall economic resilience and gradual improvement in living standards. This comprehensive analysis underscores India's economic dynamics, highlighting growth areas and persistent challenges in achieving balanced regional development.
