Abstract:	Corporate social responsibility focuses primarily on the responsibility towards society the people within as well as outside the organisation/company. In this paper we are studying the social or communal responsibility of the people who were Indus valley civilization and to understand the evolution of the social responsibility into corporate responsibility. We are going to study the Harappan civilization. Mohenjo – Daro, Dholavira and rakhigrahi are the sites of focus in this study. The attitude of people towards the society to fulfil their responsibility for the welfare of all of society will be understood.
