Abstract:
In this paper we study the existing conveyor system and optimize the critical parts like Roller, roller shaft, and support, to minimize the overall weight of assembly and minimization of slagging effect. This work involves geometrical and finite element modelling of existing and optimized designs. Geometrical modelling was done using CATIA V5R20, and finite modelling was done. Results of Linear static, Modal, and Transient analysis of existing and optimized designs are compared to prove the design is safe. Optimization gives an optimum design for the same loading condition with a huge amount of weight reduction.
