Abstract:
Women Empowerment under the Indian Constitution: An Analysis Darshana Devi Research Scholar Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo Bathinda (Punjab) Dr. Arpana Bansal Associate Professor Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda (Punjab) ABSTRACT This article of mine shows that to make Indian women empowered, many laws, acts, rules and regulations were made and along with them, many efforts were also made by implementing them. Our Constitution has provided many social, economic, political and educational rights to improve the condition of women. As in socio-political, the main object of rights is that of their development. Many provisions will be found in the Indian Constitution, in which efforts have been made to raise the status of women, old people and children. If we look back in the ancient time, the Indian culture was patriarchal culture. In that time female status considered very low in the comparison of male. If we talk in simple words women were considered as toe soe of men. Talking about today's time, today's women are self confident and courageous. Today's women are more educated then the women of the past. This issue of Feminism is not only in India, but both of developmental countries and non development countries. Now, the time has come to break the old shackles, customs, traditional and create a more prosperous society. My main purpose of writing this article is to draw the attention to the pathetic condition of women and to give them all the rights with respect, dignity and liberty, and to make them self dependent.
