Abstract: Abstract- Plants, since antiquity, have been a significant source of new chemical components useful in drug discovery. Cissus quadrangularis L. is a vine belonging to Vitaceae, well known for its bone-healing properties. The entire plant has multiple health benefits and forms a vital part of traditional medicine in many countries. The phytochemical analysis of the stem of Cissus quadrangularis L. dissolved in ethanol indicated the presence of many secondary metabolites like alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, tannins, terpenoids, saponins, and steroids. The GC-MS analysis followed by the primary assessment revealed the chemical nature of the benzene compounds, some organic compounds, and three phytosterols in the ethanol stem extract. Furthermore, the FTIR study gave a clear insight into the functional groups of the active components, and the UV-Vis profile showed different peaks ranging from 190-1100 nm with different absorption, respectively. The occurrence of numerous bioactive constituents contributes to the plant's medicinal properties.
