| Abstract: | The novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), remains a global challenge. COVID-19 was first reported in Wuhan, China, it is an emerging infectious disease with widespread and rapid infectiousness. World Health Organization (WHO) has declared COVID-19 as a pandemic on 11 March 2020. WHO coordinating efforts to develop vaccines and medicines to prevent and treat COVID-19, in addition to vaccine development and approaches that directly target the virus or block viral entry. This article was aimed to review the risk factors, prevention and treatment for COVID- 19. Advanced age, Smoking, Immuno compromised persons and Co-morbid illness like Diabetes, Cardiovascular disease and Respiratory Diseases were the risk factors for COVID-19. Day by day covid-19 cases were increased only known resolution for prevention of covid-19 include frequent hand washing, wear face mask, social distancing etc. Combination of antiviral drugs with hydroxy-chloroquine and azithromycin may be the best option to treat the patients, depending upon patient's conditions and symptoms. |
