Abstract: In this paper, the effect of Reagent Nitric Acid on concrete made using additives here Rice Husk Ash, Stone dust and steel fibre was investigated. M25 grade of concrete samples containing Rice Husk Ash as partial replacement of cement (OPC) were prepared, varying the replacement levels. The optimum replacement level of OPC with Rice Husk Ash in respect compressive strength was found. Thereafter, the sand was replaced in part by Stone dust to find the optimum replacement level in respect of compressive strength. Steel fibre was added (1% of concrete’s volume) to the above type of concrete. All the above concrete samples were tested for the strength and durability under acidic environment (5% Nitric acid exposure for a maximum of 90 days). RC- Referral M25 Concrete with OPC; RHAC- Concrete with optimum Rice Husk Ash level (15%), as part replacement of OPC; RHASDC- Concrete with optimum Rice Husk Ash (15%) used as part replacement of OPC and Optimum Stone dust(45%) used as part replacement of natural sand; SFRHASDC- Concrete with 1% steel fibre and optimum Rice Husk Ash and Stone dust. The compressive strength of these samples was determined after 7, 28, 56, and 90 days. Weights of the samples were also taken after 7, 28, 56, and 90 days to analyse the weight change. Visual assessments were also carried out and photographs were taken to get some idea about how nitric acid affects the appearance of concrete. The X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) analysis for the determination of crystalline constituents was carried out to estimate the effect nitric acid on the constituents of concrete.
