Abstract:
The study of the RC framed structures become necessary when they are subjected to seismic force. Because mostly the structures so designed are safe for gravity load. But, when seismic loads act on RC framed structures, some seismic effective parameters such as maximum storey drift, maximum storey displacement, storey stiffness etc. needs to be known, so the effect of seismic forces on the structure can be understood. This helps in designing the RC framed structures which can resist the lateral forces. The study is carried out on three complex-shaped geometry (in the plan) (i.e. L shaped, T shaped & (+) shaped) RC framed structures. In this study, the comparison is carried out between all this three complex-shaped geometry (in the plan) RC framed structures with square columns and with specially shaped columns having shapes L shaped, T-shaped & (+) shaped which are replaced by an equivalent moment of inertia of square columns. The linear static analysis (equivalent static analysis) is used to analyze the G+10 RC framed structure. The analysis and designing of all structures (with square columns & with specially shaped columns) are carried out in ETABS software.
