| Abstract: | The biggest challenge faced by deaf and mute people is to communicate with normal people. Sign language is a language through which communication is possible without the means of acoustic sounds. Recognizing the sign or hand gesture and handling emergency situations of deaf and mute is the most challenging task especially in continuous stream.To fill the communication gap between mute and normal people “An assistive device for speech and hearing impaired” is introduced which acts as a smart glove Sign Recognition System for physically impaired. The proposed system converts sign to speech using flex sensors and speakers, where the patient can give the inputs in two different modes indoor and outdoor mode,switching of home appliances through sign language and also handle emergency situations using Internet of Things and Android Applications. . |
