| Abstract: | In this study we attempt to analyse the impact of COVID-19 over Indian stock market preferably National Stock Exchange. We have taken 10 Industries each represented by 15 companies listed with NSE. The industries are Bank, Electrical equipments, Constructions, Consumer foods, Cement, IT, Iron and Steel, Non Banking Financial Companies, Papers, Pharmaceuticals covering 150 companies totally. The data consist of 176 daily price observations of the selected 150 companies. The period of study is ranging from 3rd September 2019 to 26th May 2020 which is divided into pre-crisis and covid-19 crisis period. The daily returns of 150 companies are calculated and it is compared with benchmarking index NIFTY 500 for identifying beta value. The result of the study shows that covid-19 have an impact over the scripts. The result of the study may guide investors, brokers, market analysts and policy makers to make better decision over the scripts. |
