7050 aluminum alloy from Al-Zn-Mg-Cu series is heat treatable alloy which belongs to very high strength, excellent welding, good toughness and processing properties which makes it one of the main structural materials in aerospace and automobile industries. Grain refinement of 7050 aluminum alloy makes metal more strengthen so that it has better mechanical properties. It gives an enhanced surface finish, increased tear resistance and have a better response to thermal resistance, also it is effective to improve corrosion resistance of this alloy. Different type of grain refiners is used for the purpose of grain refinement. Also, various theories have been proposed using grain refinement. Al-Ti, Al-Ti-B, Al-B having different effect on alloys, but the most efficient grain refiner is Al-Ti-B, and it is proved by various studies.
